Who we call for: MSPs, MSSPs and IT service firms

Cold calling for MSPs and IT service providers

Alba puts a trained caller on the phone to the owners and office managers of the small and mid-sized businesses your MSP wants to manage. We do the cold calling. Your engineers do the assessment and your account manager does the close.

One managed caller on the Growth plan is $2,006 a month equivalent on quarterly prepay ($6,018 every three months), or $2,367.08 on monthly flexible billing, plus $1,500 setup once. Caller, parallel dialer and data are all in that number.

Who answers

Under fifty staff, nobody owns IT. The owner does.

The best MSP prospect usually has no IT manager. At a company of ten to fifty people, IT is the owner, the office manager, or a nephew who set up the Wi-Fi. That is good news for a caller: the person with the problem answers the phone.

Where there is an IT manager, they have been called by every MSP in the region this quarter. They hang up on "comprehensive IT solutions" in the first sentence. What gets ten more seconds is a specific, local, boring problem: a backup nobody has tested, a cyber insurance renewal asking questions they cannot answer, or a helpdesk that takes two days to call back.

So the caller asks about the one pain your MSP solves best, in plain words, and asks for a short assessment rather than a sales meeting.

Who the caller asks for

  • Owner or CEO
  • Office manager
  • Operations manager
  • IT manager
  • Practice administrator
The list

Inside your drive time, by vertical

An MSP sells a relationship with an engineer who can be on site. So the list starts with your service radius, not the whole country, and then narrows by the verticals you already know: law firms, medical and dental practices, accountants, construction, manufacturing.

We exclude your current clients and anyone already in your pipeline, and we keep the company size inside the band your pricing works for. A list of five-person firms will answer and never buy; a list of five-hundred-person firms already has an internal team.

The opener

How the opener is built for an IT buyer

The opener names your MSP, says it is local, and asks one question about the pain you lead with. For a security-led MSP that is often the cyber insurance questionnaire. For a helpdesk-led MSP it is how long the last ticket took. The caller never lists services.

The ask is a short call with one of your engineers, framed as a second opinion. Owners will give that to a neighbour long before they give it to a vendor.

“We have an IT guy.”

Good. Does he have backup for when he is on holiday, and has anyone tested a restore this year?

“We are locked into a contract.”

When does it renew? A second opinion before then costs nothing and gives you leverage either way.

What we have actually done

No published MSP result yet. Here is what we can show you.

Proof tier 0: process only. No published result for this buyer yet. Updated 2026-10-04.

We have not yet published a result from an MSP engagement, so this page does not pretend to. What we can show is the same thing every engagement starts with: the caller, the dialer, the list method and our own measured dial data.

Before you buy, you can hear one real, unedited call on the cold-calling page and read the method behind 98,518 of our own dials. If that is not enough proof for your partners, we would rather you know now.

When to call

What 98,518 of our own dials say about timing

Small-business owners who run their own IT answer early, before the day fills with tickets they are handling themselves, so the 8am hour is where we would start.

Across every engagement in the study (18 May to 11 August 2026), 16.7% of dials reached a person. At 8am, local time it was 33.3%; at 4pm, local time, 7.8%. Wednesday reached 23.7% against 6.0% on Monday. These are our aggregate numbers, not a figure for this industry.

How it runs

We make the calls. You take the conversations.

  1. Step 1

    Scope

A twenty-minute call with Scott on your buyer, your offer and the list. You leave with a written scope and the exact price.

  2. Step 2

    Script and list

We write the call card from your offer and build the list. You approve both before a single dial.

  3. Step 3

    Calling

A named caller in Cairo dials your market on local US numbers with a parallel dialer that a human starts. Calls over sixty seconds are recorded.

  4. Step 4

    Report

Every Friday you get dials, connects and conversations, and the calls worth hearing. Interested prospects go straight to your team.

The price, before the call

One caller to start. Add seats when the numbers justify it.

One managed caller on the Growth plan is $2,006 a month equivalent on quarterly prepay ($6,018 every three months), or $2,367.08 on monthly flexible billing, plus $1,500 setup once. Caller, parallel dialer and data are all in that number. No meeting, pipeline or revenue guarantee: results depend on your offer, your market and your follow-up.
